X-ray Provides Multiple Quality Checks
The Challenges
When the Canadian condiments and marinades manufacturer Produits de Nos Grand-Meres introduced a new product line packaged in glass jars with metal lids, they found their metal detector inspection equipment wasn’t enough to ensure total quality of the final products:
- Due to packaging of jars with metal lids they could not inspect sealed products and had to inspect them prior to capping.
- Varying product temperatures and salinity created product effect making it hard to locate small metal contaminants.
- Detection of glass within jarred products was not possible.
The Solution
By replacing their metal detectors with the Eagle™ Tall PRO XS x-ray inspection system, Produit de Nos Grand-Meres was able to have multiple quality checks—mass measurement, missing cap detection and component count—performed simultaneously on their production line to enhance their quality control standards. Furthermore, the Canadian manufacturer was now capable of glass in glass inspection, as well as locating metal fragments in sealed jars and other physical contaminants.
