AI-enabled, task-based solutions and an advanced image analysis platform redefine what x-ray inspection can deliver for food processors worldwide.
Eagle by METTLER TOLEDO launched SimulTask™ 6 at PACK EXPO International 2026, demonstrating how processors can gain a deeper understanding of what their x-ray inspection systems detect and use that information to address specific production challenges.
Built on Eagle’s reliable inspection intelligence, the new platform supports AI-enabled, task-based solutions tailored to customer-specific x-ray inspection applications, alongside advanced image analysis, real-time production visibility, and automated reporting.
At PACK EXPO, Eagle demonstrated an AI bone classification model for the MAXIMIZER RMI that identifies bone type using key characteristics such as shape, location, and size. By providing real-time information to processing equipment, this task-based solution enables on-the-fly equipment adjustments that can improve production efficiency and product yield.
SimulTask™ 6 brings inspection results, production statistics, and performance monitoring into an intuitive, high-resolution interface. By making that information easier to interpret and act on, the platform helps processors recognize production changes, investigate reject patterns, and verify inspection performance.
“SimulTask™ 6 marks an important step forward in turning x-ray inspection into intelligence,” said Christy Draus, Head of Marketing, Eagle. “We’re bringing together clearer production visibility and AI-enabled, task-based solutions to help processors address specific inspection challenges and turn their x-ray inspection systems into integrated quality management tools.”
Eagle showcased key capabilities designed to strengthen day-to-day inspection operations:
• Real-time production visibility and reject analysis: Throughput, pass/reject counts, inspection status, and recorded reject reasons help teams recognize changes and investigate the checks driving rejection. Consistent classification and data stability help maintain reliable inspection results as belt speeds change.
• Performance verification and operational control: Inline and offline Performance Verification Routines, reminders, personalized user rights and automated startup health checks support consistent testing and protect critical inspection settings. Continuous machine health monitoring helps teams maintain reliable operation.
• Automated reporting: Batch PDF reports reduce the manual effort involved in assembling inspection data for production reviews and audit preparation.
• Enhanced security and IT compatibility: Built on Windows 11 with RFID logins, SimulTask™ 6 supports secure access and compatibility with IT environments, helping manufacturers prepare for evolving cybersecurity requirements, including the EU Cyber Resilience Act, while providing a foundation for future enhancements.
With SimulTask™ 6, Eagle advances its focus on turning x-ray inspection into intelligence: Smarter. Faster. More Intuitive.
